    Difference between Gen1 and Gen2 Hadoop

    Please explain what is the difference between Gen1 and Gen2 Hadoop with respect to the Namenode?

    The primary difference between Gen 1 and Gen 2 hadoop are as follows: In Gen 1 Hadoop, Namenode is the single point of failure. In Gen 2 Hadoop, we have what is known as Active and Passive Namenodes kind of a structure. If the active Namenode fails, passive Namenode takes over the charge. So the Gen 2 Hadoop is clever than Gen 1 Hadoop.
